遠藤博士の青汁【みどりシリーズ】
ケールが元祖青汁です！！
青汁の原点は、60年以上も前の戦時中の食糧難から。
昭和30年(1955)、医学博士の遠藤仁郎先生は、試行錯誤の 末にキャベツの原種であるケールを用いた青汁の健康法を国内で初めて考案されました。 このケールを絞った緑色の汁は先生の奥様より「青汁」と名付けられ、後に、先生の直接指導を受け、その厳格な栽培方法と製造方法を守ったものだけが「遠藤青汁」と呼ばれるようになりました。
遠藤先生が緑葉食・青汁の道を歩みだしたのは昭和１８年(1943)。
戦時中、食糧難による栄養状態の悪さを改善しようと、捨てられるだけだった大根や里芋など野菜の葉をすりつぶしたものを緑葉食として実践されたのがはじまりです。軍医として配属された駐屯地では、兵隊のみならず近隣住民からも評判を呼んだことから緑葉食の素晴らしさを確信されました。
戦後、ついにケールと出会い、青汁の原料として使用することへ。
一人でも多くの人々に実践してもらうため、有志と共に「遠藤青汁の会」を発足します。昭和36年(1961)、著書「青汁の効用」でケールでの青汁健康法を提唱。野菜不足の改善と健康のため。遠藤先生の緑葉食・青汁への情熱と発想が今も遠藤青汁の原点となっているのです。
